Weekend WordPress Theme - Weird alternative

This week, I am featuring 4 weird and alternative themes. Enjoy.

 dfMarine - The white spaces seems a bit too “white”. Love the 3 buttons at the header; attention-catching. 2 column, NOT widget ready.

 Funkey Curves - From what I see at the demo site, this theme is pretty much unusable. The header will cut off long words. The curvy midsection tend to cut out the first letter. But give full marks for new concept design. Fixth width, 2 column.

 The Green River - Good theme if you are going for the “Environmental unfriendly, polluted, kill all sea marine” niche blog. Fixth width, 2 column, WP2.3 ready.

 ExtJS - A theme that uses the ExtJS toolkit. A sort of Ajaxfied  theme with drop down menu, Live search suggestion (a la Yahoo search) and tab interface. A bit sparse at the moment, but with more theme designer making use of the toolkit, we’ll see better (prettier) WP ExtJS themes.

Weekend WordPress Themes - 4/11

Well, I miss the train last week (I procrastinate), but I am right on schedule this week, so as always enjoy. There seem to be quite a few red and pink themes this week. I think it is because of the “Pink for October” that have just ended which leaves some very nice pink themes for us to download.

Hexed 1.0 Final - An odd combination of black and blue that seem to work. The industrial black metal background adds a punk look to the theme. I particularly like the Ajax contact form. Cool. 2-column and widget ready.

Lady in Red - Although the red background is too bright for me, the other elements within the theme looks fine. Excellent for a fashion blog. 2-column, fixed width, widget ready.

My Valentine - A good theme to journal a new romance. 3-column.

Pfo stripes - There is another sister theme to this called Pfo business. But I like this better. Natalie made these 2 themes just for the Pink for October event. 2-column, widget ready.

Pretty in Pink - Besides Pink Adaptations by Charity, this is one of my favorite pink theme. The strip header and the gradient background work so well to highlight the whole theme. Excellent. 2-column, fluid width, widget ready.

Weekend WordPress Theme - 21 Oct 2007

Another week ends with another round of WordPress themes for BlogMunch. As usual, enjoy the view.

Fresh Traveller Wordpress Theme - Good theme for travels blogs. I like the lime green color theme, in contrast to the blue, red and black that is prevalent in themes these days. Fix width 2 column with widget ready sidebar.

Simplism - Seems like the leaf is a major design fad these days. Simple and clean. 2 column.

Estranged WordPress Theme - A new theme by Performancing. To me it’s sort of like a magazine theme with the large fonts, but not as busy looking. Another personal reason I choose this theme is because it’s the name of my favorite Guns N Roses song. 2 column.

Trevilian Way - Minimalism layout with the possibilities to use as a photo blog. 2 column with widget ready sidebar and footer.

Crystal 1.0 - Dark theme with a touch of coolness. The light blue menu bar really makes the theme stand out. two column, widget ready, WordPress 2.3 compatible.

Weekend WordPress Theme - 7 great themes for your blogs

This segment of my blog is dormant for the past 2 weeks. So I will try to make it up in both quantity and qualities. So sit back and enjoy.

NetWorker: Theme for Wordpress - Rarely does a theme had bright red for its core colors, as it is quite distracting. NetWorker manage to use red well and consistent. 3-column and widget ready.

GStyles - I seems to like these metallic and industrial theme these days. This theme is not for everyone, as your content needs to match up with the aggressive theme or GStyle will overpowered your writings.  I introduced another theme by the same author previously. Fix width 3 column with widget ready footer.

Vertigo Red WordPress Theme - I really like the V at the header. Reminds me of the movie V for Vendetta. Comes in Blue and Gray too. 2 or 3-column Widget-ready.

Free WordPress Theme: Clean and Dark - Chris Coyier of CSS-tricks.com decided to have its theme available for free. An adsense ready and Search engine optimized theme. 3-column Widget-ready.

The “Simply Valid” WordPress Theme - Another minimalist theme. Available in Light and Dark version. 2 column, Widget ready and CSS Valid.

BlackSmoke Wordpress Theme ready for download!!! - Nice mixture of gray, red and black. 3 columns, Widget ready, light design.

Pink Adaptations - Wordpress Theme - An excellent theme if you want to support the Pink for October initiative. 2 column fixed-width, Widget ready, light design.

So do you like these recommendations? I will working hard to look out and find more high qualities WordPress Themes for you. Having a well designed and nice theme is important for your blog, as it will leave a lasting good impression. That’s why I am always on the lookout for new themes.

weekends Wordpress Themes

It’s time for another weekends WordPress themes recommendations. This week’s themes are all very beautiful with excellent use of color. So enjoy.

Peace. A Zen-like calm design. I especially like the bamboo header. Suitable for personal journals.

Modicus. A minimalist 3 column theme with a tinge of designer touch. Good for all those who like lots of white space.

Humidor. Previously listed in Smashing Magazine’s “50 Beautiful CSS-Based Web-Designs in 2006?. Evan decided to redesign evaneckard.com and make Humidor available for download. Lucky for us.

Gotham Nights. Also from Evan of evaneckard.com. This is his latest theme. I like the multi-color layered header that doesn’t affect the readability of the whole theme.

Deliciously Blue. This guy just love blue. His previous designs Inspirationally Blue and Even Tastier Blue just confirms that. This is a nice 2 column theme with bottom bar. I guess it is now very popular trend to add a bottom bar for more navigation without cluttering the theme.

If you are interested in building your own theme, David also introduced some tools for theme building for WordPress.

I hope you like my recommendations this week. What do you think of the screenshots? Does it make the page load longer? I just think having screenshots will show you what the theme look like before you head over to the creator’s site to download. Okay, until next week.
