Let’s get this out of the way. I like a game once in a while. But getting into a home-based poker game is tough these day, as I got too much commitments on my hands. So the easy way to try my luck would be online. And to find the best online casino, you have to go to Pro360.com.

The first thing that struck me when I visit the site is how clean it is. There are no spammy pop-ups or scantily dressed female banners blinking at you. This is a pure review site for online casino.

Navigation

The categories (Blackjack, Poker, Craps, etc.) are aligned neatly below the title, so you can easily navigate to your favourite games immediately. There are also several lists on the sidebar which show the best casino, most payouts and most bonus. All in all, good navigation throughout the site.

Reviews

The reviews are done by Pro360 staff who have years of experience within the industry. They will spend several hours on each site reviewing the software, customers support, security and fair play. They will then assigned a score. Obviously, the higher the score the better. As contrast, you can also find the average player opinion score.

Information

If you are a beginner to online casino, and unsure of online casino, you can refer to the Beginners Guide to Online Gambling and Online Casino FAQ’s for more information.

It’s hard to find a clean online site that deals with gambling, but Pro360.com is one of them. So take a look and started trying your luck online now.

As always, find out about your local laws and regulations regarding inline gambling. Have fun, but don’t get into trouble doing it.

Firefox 3 beta1 - I can see a killer browser coming

November 24th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in BlogMunch, review

I switch from Opera to Firefox 2 a few months back. I love my Opera and the reasons I switch is because Opera have issues with website javascript and doesn’t display certain sites properly. During this few months of using Firefox, I start to understand why everyone is recommending Firefox.

Firefox 3 beta1 is here now and I recommend you to play around with it as this is a major upgrade. It is built on the new Gecko 1.9 Web platform that will make it more secure, more user friendly and more options for personalizations.

(note: installing the beta will overwrite your current Firefox installation, so backup first.)

Here are some of the features I am excited about:

More Security

  • One click site info - Click on the favicon to know who owns the site. Works with the phishing filters to give you protection against duplicate scam sites.
  • Malware Protection - Inform you that the site is known for installing trojans and malware on your machine. If steps are taken to prevent innocent sites from being tagged, this could be a major features for new web users.
  • Anti-virus integration - What if you do not have antivirus? Just joking, everyone has antivirus installed. Firefox3 will inform your antivirus guy to scan the current file download.

Easier to Use

  • Easier password management - The feature I am most looking forward to. Now Firefox 2 will save any password before it successfully logged into your account. With Firefox 3, it will prompt you to save the password After it has log into your account. No incorrect password laying around in your Password manager.
  • New Download Manager with Resumable downloading - Another big one. Makes it easier to locate your downloaded files. Resumable download is important to me as my ADSL line drops frequently.
  • Full page zoom - Been waiting for this since I switch over from Opera.

More Personal

  • Star button - One click to bookmark and another click to tag it. How convenient is that. Hmm, do I still used my Del.icio.us account?
  • Web-based protocol handlers - Now I can used my Gmail when I click on any “mailto:” protocol on the web. I don’t used Windows live mail and I hate it when it opens when I click mailto: now.

Improved Performance

  • Speed - Firefox is not that slow even with Firefox 2 but more speed is always welcome.
  • Memory usage - My pet peeve with Firefox 2. It’s always hungry for more memory even when it is consuming 200+ Mb on my system. Looking forward to how Firefox 3 can improve this.

Well, are you excited about the upcoming release of Firefox 3? Write your comments below to show your excitement or disappointment.

Print a large poster on your wall this christmas - Rasterbator

November 22nd, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in review

rasterbator screenshotPhotos printing can be a problem if you want to print it in poster size. Especially in large poster size. Well, you can do it manually by converting them to vector images using Vector Magic. Enlarge them and send to your local poster print shop for printing. Or you can use the Rasterbator and convert them into tiled photos.

There are 2 versions available on the website. You can do it directly online, provided you have a image/photo under 1mb in size. Or you can download the desktop version and rasterbate any photo you have with not image size limits.

I tried the online version and find it an easy process.

  1. Upload your image (from your desktop or from the web, e.g. Flickr)
  2. Crop and resize the image as necessary. Resizing will determine the number of sheets of paper needed to print out and reconstruct the image.
  3. Choose your dot size. Normally the smaller your dot, the higher resolution you get.
  4. Choose your color mode. Available in black/white, monochromatic and color.
  5. Rasterbate.

One point to take note. When the website is rasterbating your image, Do Not flip to another page or tab. The first time I did it, the process fail because I go to another tab while waiting for the process to finished.

The final product will be a series of pages in PDF format (screenshot above) which you can then print out in borderless format. Reconstruct and mount it on the wall. You will feel a personal satisfaction when you see it on the wall.

This is a worthwhile project especially now in the holiday season. Put a poster of Santa Claus on the wall to entertain your kids. Or even better print a poster of your kid. They will definitely appreciate you for this.
