I am sure everyone have heard about the book "The Four-Hour Work Week" by Timothy Ferriss. I have not read the book, but I am sure there are a lot of information on self-improvement and time management. I am not sure how he did it, but with both online and offline work, I am effectively living on a "Four-Hour Sleep Day".

How much Sleep do we really need?

Well, the official school of thought is that every adult needs to sleep eight hours a night to be refreshed. I doubt more than 50% of the adult human race sleep 8 hours a night (lucky bastards). There are also those that thought having two split four hour sleep every 24 hours is the most effective sleep pattern.

Another extreme school of thought is the Polyphasic sleep pattern. It advocate a 20-40 min nap every 4 hour, so that you can get by with 4-6 hours of sleep a day. It is not recommended for normal lifestyle, but a good practice if you know you have to get by with less sleep on a busy schedule.

How much sleep do you have?

I find that I am able to get by with only a straight 4 hour sleep at night. But every 3-4 days, the sleep debt will hit a threshold and I automatically sleep a 8 hour sleep. So it averages to about 5 hour a night.

So I ask you : How much sleep do you get a night on average? Any 8 hour sleepers here?

Some fun stuff to give out…

Although I am quite busy with a couple of projects nowadays, I still find some interesting sites that I want to recommend. Here they are. Enjoy!!

scrabble1 screenshot The first one is a great one if you play Scrabble. Especially if you play online Scrabble. The scrabble solver will let you input any tiles you have on your rack and the tiles in play. Then once you click "Get Solutions", it will give you all the possible solutions available, sorted by the highest points descending order. Now, you can cheat all you want in online play to become the Scrabble L33T Godz.

Playstation 2 Emulator

If you have played any console emulators on your PC, you would know it is very difficult to get a perfect emulation even with a console like NES. Now, the best emulator for PS2 is the PCSX2. At the moment, the compatibility list have 1858 games of which 748 games are playable. That’s very good for such a complex system. Just a warning, the installation can be quite technical and requires a dump of your bios from a PS2 system (although, if you look hard enough, you can find a bios online too). Then, you will need a image of the PS2 game you want to play. Try it.

Colorzilla

There will always times when you wonder "What is the bloody color for that logo/background/font color?" Now you can just use a Firefox extension Colorzilla (From the maker of FoxyTunes) to find out the RGB value. This is especially valuable if you want to blend your Adsense ads with your color scheme and you have no idea what is the various colors you should use.

Lastly, just look at this video. If you are a poker player, you will understand all the bad beat you have cannot compare to this. Watch it all the way, it gets more amazing as it ends.

City Hotel Guides - Singapore

December 25th, 2007 | No Comments | Posted in BlogMunch, review

singapore booking screenshot2 Do you want to know where you can find the most travel guides online? You can find them at HotelsByCity.net. HotelsByCity is an online travel booking site where you can find Cheap Hotels, vacation package, last minute deals and even the hottest show tickets.

The first thing I look for is, of course, Singapore. I thought they wouldn’t have it, but here it is. Singapore Hotel Guide. This page is really well done. The blog review showcase Singapore’s cultural attractions. Places like Chinatown, Arab Street and Little India are where most tourists will visit when they come to Singapore. I would really recommend them to go to Sentosa to watch multi-sensory extravaganza "Songs of the Sea". It is something to be experienced.

You can look for Cheap Hotels (most of the hotels, like Goodwood Park Hotel are linked there), find out the Weather and some online resource for Singapore. There is even a widget that allows you to search the availability of hotels for the dates you want to check in.

From what I have read on this guide, I must say there are very comprehensive information about Singapore and I am sure the other cities are covered adequately too. So make HotelsByCity the first choice when booking for your Hotels online.

I am taking a course in internet marketing

December 22nd, 2007 | 7 Comments | Posted in BlogMunch

Dear Folks, you might have noticed I have not been posting regularly in BlogMunch. After reading BloggerUnleashed, I have grown a deeper appreciation for the inner applications of Google SEO. So I am now learning from the Trinity College of Vic, Grizz and Courtney. Here I will highlight some of best post that comes out of these three blog.

Blogger Unleashed

How to Make Money Online for Beginners

Court’s Internet Marketing School

As you can see, the course is quite demanding. The practical lessons takes too much time (searching for a aged PR site, write articles, promote, etc.) So I might not have time to post on BlogMunch regularly. Hope you understand.

Ok, back to the lessons. See you at the next semester.
